Les Danseuses, Revel et Coco | after Kees van Dongen (1877-1968)

This is a copy of Kees van Dongen's Les Danseuses. The original has Kees van Dongen's signature in the lower right corner and is 28-¾ x 36-¼ inches. I worked from a Sotheby's auction catalog. The image in the catalog was about 7" x 9". I haven't been able to locate an official image of the original on the web. When searching for the original I usually find my version.

From Catalog:

Van Dongen's paintings from this period predominantly utilize themes taken from the circus, dance and the music hall. Van Dongen and Picasso, who both had studios at the Bateau Lavoir, often visted the Médrano circus together, these visits inspiring Van Dongen to include clowns, acrobats and circus-riders in some of his works. Van Dongen also had an interest in café and music-hall floor-shows, particularly dancing, which he was passionate about. He regularly went to balls and often visited the Moulin de la Galette where the dance the maxixe was popular.
